This is where you can read about, post details on and/or search for information regarding the interview process for all companies beginning with the letter "A."

Our mission here is very simple.
Think of this forum as a tool that puts a little more power in the hands of you the job applicant. You're already stressed out enough having to spend hours on job posting web sites like Careerbuilder and Monster, sending resumes, making follow up phone calls and overall, trying to impress hiring managers enough to give you a shot at your dream job.
All we're doing is "Secret Shopping" all those corporate hiring managers out there.
The feedback you post will be utilized by all who view it to motivate, not criticize. Ok, if you have a legitimate criticism, please feel free to voice your opinion however you see fit.

Company Name:
AT&T
Position:
Premises Technician
Current status in the interview process:
Based on the hourly rate outlined in the job description, I elected to not pursue this position. However, if you do elect to continue with the interview process here is a short list of what you can expect.
• A face to face “Customer Service Assessment Field Test that measures your ability to effectively deal with customers and takes about 60 minutes to complete.
• Full background check
• Physical Abilities Evaluation (sit-ups, leg raises, torso lifts)
10/23 – Took and passed the customer service skills assessment test. This was a series of two tests, one was a basic skills test which I was excused from taking because I have a Bachelor’s Degree and the other was a very elementary computer keyboard test.
10/6 – Left message with HR to call me regarding “Skills Assessment Testing” for Technical Positions
10/2 - Filled out application online
Salary information:
Starting pay can range from $9.00 per hour up to $13.08 per hour depending on your skill level. Top pay is $16.76 per hour.
Company Name:
ACI (Advanced Communications Incorporated)
Position:
Installation Technician
Current status in the interview process:
9/5 – Service Manager called me and offered me the position
8/22 – Sent a quick email to see if I was still a candidate for the position.
8/20 – Hadn’t heard back so I left another voicemail to check status of hiring paperwork
8/14 – As directed by the Service Manager, I left a voice mail
8/13 – Interview with the Service Manager. He said based on my experience and overall demeanor, I could probably be a supervisor within 6 to 8 months.
Salary information:
Starting pay was $12 per hour with the opportunity for bonuses based on a formula they use that calculates your commission according to your speed, accuracy and amount of work done. He said some technicians can make up to $70,000 per year.
Company Name:
American Income Life Insurance
Position:
Insurance Sales Representative
Current status in the interview process:
Here is how their process works (taken from the company email):
The “PR Team” has business-to-business meetings with the group heads of Unions, Credit Unions, and Associations where they explain our program.
The group votes on whether to pursue the relationship.
The group signs a contract with American Income.
A letter on the particular groups letterhead and a reply card goes out to all of their members, informing them of what is being made available. The reply card is filled out and returned to American Income if they want to receive our no cost benefits as well as other supplemental benefits that they may qualify for.
Our sales team only calls on the members who request to be seen by our representatives.
8/12 – Sales Manager extended the offer but I declined because I didn’t want to sell insurance door to door at people’s homes.
8/10 – Second interview
8/8 – Same day, the “Assistant” called me to say she needed to hear back from me by 4:00 if I was still interested in moving forward. (That sounded like some high pressure sales tactics being used on me.) When I called back to confirm the second interview, she said: “If offered the position, is there anything holding you back from accepting? (That’s a classic scripted Trial Close to gauge how I felt so far!)
8/8 - 1st Interview which started out with a “sign in and wait with the other 20 people” mass hiring style meeting. The sales presentation to us seemed pretty convincing. Some people left immediately following the presentation and those remaining were invited to hang around for a one on one interview.
8/6 – I called the office to setup an interview time.
This is some info I found when I Googled the company:
Most if not all the leads were recycled at least 3 times. I've been to members homes that had been visited twice in a week and did not appreciate the phone call to try to book them for a third.
They may have a good product and a great niche in the market, but if you are not friends with the manager or a head guy, you won't make the money.
She also told me to "dress in business attire" which rang a bell with me after I have read some of the other postings on here.
I also received an email not a few days ago from a different person there (coordination in their HR department?)
Salary information:
The following information is from the American Income Life prospecting email: The position is for management and outside sales (sales associates potential earnings average $40-$60K first year and managers potential earnings average $60-$90K first year) and we have a public relations department that is responsible for securing all of the leads.
